Mar’ce
Before my 40th birthday, I had always been successful in making excuses to avoid athletic activities. Three years ago, I was doing my best to survive the onslaught of five kids in our home and to build my writing career. The last thing I had time or money for was a personal trainer. My excuses? I have weights at home. I can watch fitness DVDs. Except that I didn’t lift the weights and often I watched the DVDs instead of exercising along with them. (I must have been exhausted with all those kids) And then my 40th birthday loomed ominously, taunting me with messages of unused potential. I fought back.
My first session with Morgan was easier than I expected. The exercises were varied, the repetitions were within reason, and I felt successful for an entire 60 minutes. I laughed when my body was contorted into weird positions and the time passed faster than a baby’s nap. Despite muscles that ached for days afterwards, I continued to show up at my Morgan appointment. Within a month, I had more energy and I looked forward to my sessions that were a combination of cardio, strength training, and sometimes boxing. I even, willingly, exercised on the days I didn’t see her- following her scripted exercises. After three months, I had core definition (my own little six pack!), more endurance for chasing after my children and I felt like I was cooler, younger, and definitely more fun. Plus, I had something new to talk about with my athletic friends who were planning 10K, 1/2 marathons and marathons. Now, three years later, I keep up my core work. I understand what my body is capable of doing and I push it to the limit. I follow Morgan’s exercises (the army crawls are killer) and I still laugh when I do them. A personal trainer is a wonderful gift for each one of us. I recommend Morgan as a woman who will push you, choose exercise to sculpt your muscles, and have fun along the way. Morgan is a great prescription for fitness success. No more excuses.

Ashalee and Crystal
Hi, we’re Ashalee & Crystal. We are friends, co-workers and partner trainees with Move SomeBODY! We decided to do partner training because we wanted to get in shape and motivate each other in our sessions and everyday lives. Here is a little bit about our journey...
Ah, the fitness assessment. Day one.
This was the day that we learned our “starting point”. Our trainer took us through a series of tests to determine what our program was going to be like. Based on how much our legs shook during the “wallsit” we figured that part out for ourselves...hard!
We started meeting with our trainer twice a week at Ashalee’s house and in between sessions going to the gym on our own. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that each session was new and different from the last which helped us to stay excited about working out. Although the sessions were challenging enough to muster up some un-ladylike language from time to time, we shared a lot of laughs and were having fun too!
Over the next few months we learned a lot about our strengths, weaknesses and how our bodies responded to exercise. We started to get stronger, leaner and had more energy than before. It was great to be able to share in our successes...and also nice to have someone to share the aching muscles with!
Overall, we found the partner training to be a lot of fun and very successful. We look forward to our workouts and are even joining the new bootcamp class for the summer! After all, it’s like they say...no pain no gain!
